iPhone 17 Pro to Feature Triple 48-Megapixel Cameras
Flagship models iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are set to include significant camera upgrades, according to a report from MacRumors, citing well-known Chinese insider Digital Chat Station.
The new Pro models will feature a triple-camera system, with each module sporting a 48-megapixel resolution:
- Main Camera: Equipped with Apple’s Fusion technology for enhanced image processing.
- Ultra-Wide Camera: Designed for capturing expansive scenes with improved clarity.
- Telephoto Lens: Featuring a tetra-prism design, which promises better zoom capabilities.
Additionally, the front-facing camera will receive an upgrade to a 24-megapixel sensor, marking a significant enhancement for selfies and video calls.
Confirmation of Telephoto Lens Improvements
The leak aligns with previous comments by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who predicted in mid-2024 that the iPhone 17 Pro Max would feature an upgraded telephoto lens. The new reports suggest these enhancements will also be extended to the smaller iPhone 17 Pro.
Other Features of the iPhone 17 Series
The iPhone 17 series is expected to launch in September 2025 and will include four models. Notable changes include:
- iPhone 17 Air: A new addition to replace the Plus model, featuring a 5.5mm-thick body, one of the thinnest in the lineup.
- Design Updates: Pro models will sport a redesigned camera module and a unique back panel made of a combination of aluminum and glass.
With these advancements, Apple aims to set new benchmarks in mobile photography and design, continuing its legacy of innovation.
