China is set to launch mass production of flying cars in 2026, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of transportation. This announcement was made by He Xiaopeng, Chairman of XPeng Motors and a deputy of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC), as reported by Xinhua.
According to He Xiaopeng, XPeng Motors, a company renowned for its innovations in the electric vehicle industry, plans to commence large-scale production of flying cars by 2026. The initial phase will focus on developing a specialized flying module for the Land Aircraft Carrier (LAC), a vehicle designed to seamlessly transition between ground and aerial travel.
It is expected that around 10,000 units of these flying modules will be manufactured annually, positioning XPeng Motors as a key player in the emerging field of aerial mobility. The LAC will make its public debut at Airshow China, held in Zhuhai on November 12 and 17, where it will conduct its first test flight, showcasing the potential of this groundbreaking technology.
This breakthrough has been made possible through the rapid advancements in electric and aerospace technologies in China. XPeng Motors, already recognized for its cutting-edge developments in the electric vehicle sector, is now poised to take transportation to the next level by introducing innovative solutions for urban mobility.
