Easy Homemade Plum Pie Recipe — Perfect for Beginners

This plum pie recipe is so straightforward that even those who usually struggle with baking can succeed. It’s a simple, delicious dessert that will win you over with its tender texture and delightful flavor.

Ingredients:

  • Butter – 100 g, softened
  • Sugar – 125 g (divided)
  • Eggs – 2
  • Flour – 190 g
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp
  • Milk – 30 ml (room temperature)
  • Plums – 200 g, thinly sliced
  • Cinnamon – a pinch

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Butter Mixture: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with 100 grams of sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating until well combined.
  2. Add Dry Ingredients: Sift the flour and baking powder, then add it to the butter mixture. Pour in the milk and mix until a smooth batter forms. You can do this with a mixer on low speed or by hand.
  3. Prepare the Baking Pan: Grease a baking pan with butter and dust it lightly with flour to prevent sticking. Lay the thinly sliced plums on the bottom of the pan in an even layer.
  4. Add Cinnamon Sugar: Mix a pinch of cinnamon with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the plums to add a warm, spiced sweetness.
  5. Pour the Batter: Gently pour the batter over the plums, spreading it to cover the fruit completely.
  6. Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the pie for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
