How to Make French-Style Scrambled Eggs: A Breakfast Delight

Many food lovers have heard of “meat à la française,” but few know about a dish called “French-style scrambled eggs”. Yes, there’s a Parisian twist on this classic breakfast, featuring a rich, cheesy topping and other flavorful ingredients that transform a simple dish into a culinary masterpiece.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 slices of baguette or white bread, cut into small cubes
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 3 eggs
  • Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
  • 30 grams of cheese, grated (Gruyère or Emmental work well)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Pan: Heat a little vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the Onion: Once the pan is hot, add the chopped red onion and sauté for about 1 minute until it starts to soften and release its aroma.
  3. Add the Bread Cubes: Toss in the bread cubes and fry until they turn golden and crispy.
  4. Incorporate the Tomato: Add the chopped tomato to the pan and cook for a couple of minutes, allowing the flavors to meld with the bread and onion.
  5. Add the Eggs: Crack three eggs directly into the pan. Season with a little salt and pepper, then gently stir the mixture to lightly scramble the eggs with the bread and vegetables. Let it cook over low heat without too much stirring.
  6. Top with Cheese: While the eggs are finishing, grate 30 grams of cheese. Sprinkle it generously over the top of the eggs.
  7. Finish Cooking: Let the cheese melt for a few minutes on low heat until the eggs are fully cooked and the cheese forms a gooey, delicious topping.
