At CES 2025, Samsung will unveil groundbreaking refrigerators featuring a hybrid cooling system and artificial intelligence (AI). These innovative appliances combine Peltier elements with traditional compressors, optimized by AI for superior performance. The announcement was made on the official Samsung Electronics website.
Revolutionary Hybrid Cooling Technology
Samsung’s hybrid cooling system integrates Peltier elements with a compressor to provide precise and efficient temperature management. The AI monitors and adjusts cooling based on factors such as newly added warm items or seasonal heat, ensuring optimal storage conditions. For instance, the system can extend the shelf life of pork by 40% and red fish by 20%.
This hybrid approach, likened to a hybrid car, temporarily increases energy usage to rapidly cool items when necessary. Despite this, the improved compressor is designed to be more energy-efficient and durable.
Increased Storage Space
The inclusion of Peltier elements also boosts the refrigerator’s internal volume by 13.8% without altering its external dimensions. This space-efficient design provides more room for storage while maintaining the compact size that modern kitchens demand.
Energy Efficiency
Samsung projects that these new models will be among the most energy-efficient appliances of 2025. The AI not only optimizes cooling performance but also reduces unnecessary energy consumption by intelligently controlling the compressor and cooling cycles.
CES 2025 Debut
The new refrigerators will make their debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, held from January 7–10 in Las Vegas, USA. This innovation marks a significant step forward in home appliance technology, offering smarter, more sustainable solutions for modern households.
