Cabbage is one of the most nutritious and affordable vegetables. Packed with vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial nutrients, it deserves a spot in every kitchen. However, not everyone is a fan of cabbage dishes. Here’s a simple recipe for a delicious cabbage pie that the whole family will love.
Ingredients:
- Eggs: 4 pcs
- Kefir: 250 ml
- Vegetable oil: 2 tbsp
- Baking powder: 1 tsp
- Flour: 220 g
- White cabbage: 400 g
- Salt: to taste
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Cabbage Filling
- Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and finely chop it.
- Sauté the cabbage in a pan over medium heat until it’s partially cooked.
- Lightly whisk 2 eggs in a bowl and pour them over the cabbage in the pan. Stir well, then remove the pan from the heat and let it cool.
2. Prepare the Batter
- In a separate bowl, whisk the remaining 2 eggs with a pinch of salt.
- Add the kefir and vegetable oil, mixing thoroughly.
- Combine the flour with the baking powder, sift it into the wet mixture, and stir until you achieve a consistency similar to pancake batter.
3. Assemble the Pie
- Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil.
- Pour half of the batter into the dish, evenly spread the cabbage filling on top, and then cover with the remaining batter.
4. Bake
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake the pie for 35–40 minutes, or until golden brown.
